Lear is done, and while I’m fighting off the obligatory post-show cold I’m ready to return with some regularity to the blogosphere.

Right now I’m working on the edits to the second book, which has not yet been pitched. It’s difficult simply because I have too much story. I had so much, in fact, that what was once Book 2 has now become Books 2 & 3. But after reading Ian Mortimer’s biography of his namesake, Roger Mortimer, I now know what Cesco will be doing in the third book. I had the start, I had the finish, but there were six months open between them that I had to fill. And those events will take him straight into Book the Fourth.

But who is this Cesco, I hear you asking. If you’ve been reading the blog, you have no idea who I’m talking about. Pietro is my lead in THE MASTER OF VERONA.

Minor spoiler – Cesco is the baby in the Prologue. He’s the central figure to the whole tale I’m weaving. By book two he’s a touch older, and does a lot of growing up – literally and figuratively – during the next two books.

So when will there be more chapters posted? Tomorrow I’ll begin the last posting of chapters – can’t put too much on the web, but also know there are some faithful readers who deserve another sneak-peek at the story.

I’m also going to begin working on the promised Romeo & Juliet discourse. I have some specific thoughts on the show that I want to put into print.

Not today, though. Dash is murmurring, "Come and play, daddy. I haven’t seen nearly enough of you since Lear started rehearsals, it’s time for me." And he’s right.

Coming, little man. Everyone else, cheers, and see you soon.
