Something strange. Between writing and sword-play (on-stage), I apparently have been using my right wrist a little harshly. I have developed a ganglion cyst.

From www.emedicinehealth.com: "A ganglion cyst is a tumor or swelling on top of a joint or the covering of a tendon (tissue that connects muscle to bone). It looks like a sac of liquid (cyst). Inside the cyst is a thick, sticky, clear, colorless, jellylike material. Depending on the size, cysts may feel firm or spongy."

Now, it’s not fatal, it doesn’t grow into something worse or throw clots or anything. Right now it’s just annoying, only mildly painful. The treatment options are 1) wait for it to go away; 2) have the cyst drained; 3) whack it with a big book to break it open. That last one is apparently what a doctor once did to my grandmother’s cyst. I think it’s hysterical, though I haven’t tried it yet.

So, I’m a little stymied at the moment. Hurts to write, so I’m doing a lot of research for book five in the series, as well as another new book I’m hoping to start in May or June. Both have to do with queens named Isabella, who lived 150 years apart. The first should be obvious, even if the second is more famous.

Have a lovely Easter. I’m off to find a big book.
