Okay, I was gonna write the next post in the Favorite Play series, but I'm a little off-kilter as I just watched both the Tigers and the Bears lose. Yes, as a Michigan native I'm happy for the Lions and hope now they go all the way, and especially hope that they destroy the Packers. But I've lived in Chicago for over a decade, and I rise and fall with the Bears – or rather, their offensive line. Which I suppose puts me in the same category as Jay Cutler, who had a fantastic game, in spite of a front line the crumpled like tissue. And while a lot of those penalties were perfectly justified, the call on Urlacher was utter horseshit.

I'm too tired or depressed or non-plussed to write anything coherent. So instead I will leave you with a quote from my kids from this morning:

Walking to school from the car, we're listening to the Beatles on my phone. Dash is singing along with She Loves You.

EVIE: Daddy, in the movie, the girls chased the Beatles because they wanted to hug them and squeeze them and pet them and name them George.

ME: One of them was already named George.

EVIE: Yeah.

DASH (singing): Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!

I don't know what makes me happier, their love of the Beatles, or Evie adding a Chuck Jones-ism.
