I've been silent on the blog front for six months. A lot has happened, and every event deserves its own post. Among the good news, I won Best Actor In A Comedy at the Wilde Awards for playing Algernon in The Importance Of Being Earnest; I got hired to be the Fight Director on Alice Austen's upcoming film GIVE ME LIBERTY; and I was asked to be a featured guest lecturer at the Historical Novel Society Conference in Denver in June 2015, where I'll be teaching different styles of swordfighting and moderating a panel on reviving male protagonists with Sharon Kay Penman, Margaret George, and Anne Easter Smith. In the shockingly awful news, Molly Glynn was stolen from us, an event we are all still coping with, no one more than her husband, my friend Joe, the bravest man I know.

Now that I'm coming out of the writing coccoon, shaking off the downy sleep of monomania, I will start writing about each and every one of those events. But today is D-Day, the biggest day of my year. It's the launch of the new book.

THE PRINCE'S DOOM is here.

I've been living with this story since 2000. That's nearly 15 years of this story residing in my head, demanding I tell it, and tell it right. In some ways even longer, as I had a glimpse of it when I was 17, playing Mercutio for the first time. I wrote pieces of it back in 2002. But it wasn't until I finished FORTUNE'S FOOL that the shape of this one became clear to me. And not until the return to Verona last May that several sequences fell into place.

So here it is. Fully the work of a third of my life. My wife devoured it within a few days, then told me in no uncertain words to start writing the next one.

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to present the fourth volume in the Star-Cross'd seried: THE PRINCE'S DOOM
